This site is dedicated to using smart technology such as Google Home Mini and Amazon Alexa Dot for the support of people living with Dementia or Alzheimer’s.
The focus of is to test, set-up & trial and then share what works, what doesn’t in the hope that it can be used to help more people live independently.
Having worked in the technology sector for 30 years, and now supporting my mother in looking after my father who has dementia, and trying to enable him to live at home for as long as possible, I wanted to see how such technology could be used and share the results. This is a non-commercial project, all results, applications & use cases will be freely shared.
I’m not associated with either Google or Amazon, but will be sharing my experience of using such technology to support my father, who is living with Dementia.
So what is the objective? Please refer to the About page for details of the User Stories and the Scenarios we are focusing on and what we are trying to achieve.
Please feel free to share any ideas or experiences you have, they may help others 🙂
Mission statement
Create a forum and community for the evaluation, trialing, testing, documenting and development of applications for low cost voice controlled artificial intelligence consumer technology (i.e. Amazon Alexa & Echo Dot, Google Assistant & Google Home Mini etc.) to help people with Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease to live independently for longer.
Via voluntary engagement from people who wish to support, on a non-commercial, non-profit basis with all output and developed applications being freely shared for the wider community benefit.
And encourage sponsorship & awareness to support the provision of such technology to those who cannot access it directly.
